DO NOT MISS THESE INFORMATION ๐๐๐
Below we present the levels of difficulty of bike tours of the โPoland on a Bikeโ Foundation. First of all, please remember that practicing bicycle tourism requires the participant to be prepared in terms of fitness and performance. It also means the proper selection of a bike to a given route. In the case of tours during which you rent a bike from us, there is no problem. The bike will be selected accordingly. If you are taking your own bike and have trouble selecting it for the route or have difficulty in assessing your skills, please contact us. We will help you.
We have developed the difficulty levels on the basis of our several years of experience in organising various types of bicycle tours around Poland and abroad. However, we keep in mind that the difficulty of tours is actually subjective. What does this result from? First of all, from the fact of diverse cycling experience among participants of tours. During the same tour, the group of participants will include a person for whom the tour will seem more difficult than they had anticipated, while it will appear easier to others. Therefore, we make every effort to describe our tours so that they are adequate to the expectations of participants.
For those looking for undemanding cycling holidays with short, daily distances mostly on flat, slightly hilly terrain. The planned daily distances are 20 – 50 km.
Is this level for you?
If you have just started cycling or have recently taken a longer break from it, a bicycle tour of this difficulty level may be suitable for you. It is also a great offer for families with young children who are just taking the first steps in bicycle escapades. Of course, no route can be completely flat, and short climbs are inevitable. If you are looking for short, everyday distances, mostly on flat terrain (with a lot of time to travel at your own pace and discover the surrounding attractions), this is the offer for you. However, as with every few-day bike tour, you must prepare and participants of this level of difficulty are expected to have the skill of convenient bicycle riding and basic physical fitness and health.
What does level โ+โ mean?
If you see a โ+โ next to the level of difficulty, it means that the tour schedule contains certain elements which do not necessarily fit a given level, e.g. one of the days is more demanding, the excursion is in a place where it is warmer than normal or there are a few more climbs. But there are not as many difficult elements in the tour to make it qualify as a level higher. For a tour like this, you will find an additional information as to why the โ+โ has been included there.
For those who are looking for a pleasant and accessible tour mainly on flat, hilly terrain with several unexpected challenges. Daily distance planned within 30 – 60 km.
Is this level for you?
Youโve recently just started cycling or you want to spend an active vacation on two wheels. You want to do something else than just go on a plain holiday. If you are looking for opportunities to ride on quiet roads, bicycle paths and pleasant and accessible cycling routes, then these trips will be suitable for you. It is also a great offer for families with slightly older children in good physical condition. On the route you will meet an undulating landform with a few unexpected climbs, which will be a challenge and an opportunity for you to raise your fitness and to jump to the next level in the future. Participants of this level are expected, if possible, to perform regular cycling, e.g. commuting to work by bike, or going on short weekend trips around the neighbourhood.

For recreational cyclists with a good level of physical fitness. Such tours may include more steep and challenging climbs as well as sections with various terrain (e.g. forest paths, gravel paths, etc.). The planned daily distance is 50 – 80 km.

For cyclists who ride frequently. The tours include several long and/or steep climbs, often on different terrain (some sections will run on uneven and loose terrain). The daily distances that we plan during these trips are 50 – 100 km per day.
Is this level for you?
You ride the bike often, and perhaps cycling is one of your forms of sporting activity. You spend occasional weekends on a bicycle saddle, discovering routes with steep climbs. You like to make an effort on the bike and raise your level of fitness. This type of tour will give you the opportunity of trying your hand at various terrains (gravel roads, forest paths, uneven terrain, etc.), so it is advisable that you are a versatile cyclist. People who sign up for tours of this category are expected to be physically fit, with good endurance and ready to take on a demanding cycling challenge.

Tours for cyclists who also feel good in level 4, ride the bike often and have very good physical fitness. Itโs a proposition for people looking for trips with an element of a โchallengeโ with many hours spent on the saddle during the day, difficult climbs and varied terrain (not infrequently on loose terrain, stones, uneven and unpaved terrain). Daily distances will be within 60 – 110 km per day in mountainous, demanding terrain.
